Inquisitor's Lash
Forged in the workshops of a now-silent Ordo, this crossbow was the instrument of sanctioned pursuit, designed to drag the condemned back into the light of judgment rather than let them die in the dark. Its bolts were said to carry the will of the Inquisitor as much as their momentum. Those who have faced it claim the pull feels less like physics and more like guilt made physical.

Mechanics
Bolts fired from this crossbow trail psychic tendrils that drag struck targets toward the wielder's position.
Dragged to Judgment
When you hit a creature with this crossbow, the bolt embeds a psychic tether. The target must succeed on a DC 15 Strength saving throw or be pulled up to 20 feet in a straight line toward you. If this movement would bring the target within 5 feet of you, the movement stops. Large or larger creatures have advantage on this saving throw. The tether dissipates at the end of the target's next turn.
DM Notes
The pull effect is powerful in environments with hazards, ledges, or chokepoints. Consider that pulling a Large creature with advantage on the save will succeed roughly half the time at DC 15, which is appropriate for Rare. The 20-foot pull can separate a target from its allies or drag it into opportunity attack range of the Fighter's companions. DMs should note this can produce fall damage if a target is pulled off an elevated surface, which is an intended interaction but worth pre-adjudicating. The tether ending at the start of the target's next turn means a fast target can move away again immediately, preventing the item from permanently caging a mobile enemy.
